Last Storm of 2019

last storm of 2019

Though the weather man had predicted this last storm of 2019, it always amazes me to wake up to the winter wonderland of fresh snow.

The simple beauty of light snow falling on the ground with several inches of the fluffy stuff already covering the ground is unbeatable.

Until it’s chore time…

We were very blessed we didn’t end up with more, but 7 inches of snow is still plenty. With roads to clear, livestock to feed, and water tanks to clear of ice, snowy mornings tend to be more than enough work.

Since the holiday season is here and most of Bryce’s siblings are home for a few days, there were plenty of helping hands to get all of the critters cared for.

It is satisfying work to look back over your shoulder as you scoop and see all of the yearlings following the feed wagon to the bunks to fill their bellies after the last storm of 2019!
