Growing up on a farm and ranch in north central Nebraska is where I initially gained my passion for agriculture. Through 4-H and helping my mom feed our hungry farm crew is where my love for cooking began.
As a teen, I spent many summer days, trekking through corn and soybean fields to help fix irrigation systems to keep water pumping on the crops. During planting or harvest season though, you could usually find me in the kitchen helping prepare easy supper meals to deliver out to the field to keep the farm crew going!
I graduated from the University of Nebraska with degrees in agronomy and agricultural economics in 2019 and then began my career as a sales agronomist with a local cooperative in Holt County, Nebraska. As a sales agronomist I have the opportunity to work with farmers every day to provide them both products and recommendations on how best to grow row crops such as corn, soybeans, popcorn, and even navy beans!

In October of 2019, I married my best friend from college, Bryce. As a farm kid, he understands my love of agriculture and even more, love for the family farm. Between the two of us, we juggle our own careers and still remain active on both family farms.
Besides just Bryce and I, you can find our trusty, fun-loving Border Collie, Gus not too far away!

As I continue my work in the agricultural field, I find that it’s often the food that always unites us after a long days work and brings us all together to appreciate the job we have of growing food for this world.
The basis of this blog is to provide ideas for easy, hearty meals that can be taken out to the field or enjoyed at the kitchen table to anybody passing through; this is The Farmer’s Wife.
Another goal of The Farmer’s Wife is to simply provide insight into what farm life really looks like and to share my own passion for agriculture in order to help educate others.
